History

Gatonho is a cute little kitten who was born without little arms, but is full of courage! A villain, a pink Slime who imitates Prince Jackson, wearing his black hat and dance shoes, stole the "Ring Cup" - the most important soccer championship in Morro do Bigato.

Gatonho ran after him, but turned down the wrong street and got lost in Morro do Fundão, a place with streets that look like a maze. In this unknown neighborhood, everyone wants trouble with the inhabitants of Morro do Bigato, and Gatonho will have to make his way by giving powerful kicks until he recovers the precious Ring Cup!

This game is made to run on the Atari 2600 Video Game. Here it's working thanks to the Javatari.js emulator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sometimes the kick doesn't seem to work! Is this a bug?

Gatonho's kick has a cooldown. This means that after you kick, you need to move away and wait. Everyone needs to rest and catch their breath. But nobody has to give up, just rest. One kick forward, one step back. Rhythm. That's all we really need.

What is that colored square that appears in the middle at the beginning?

In Atari games you need imagination. Imagine it's a chest. And inside it there's a 50% chance you'll find Gatonho's dream, the square ball that gives +1 damage and ranged attack. Gatonho dreams of being a soccer player, and a square ball to practice with is all he wanted! But don't worry if you don't get the square ball with +1 damage and ranged attack, because by defeating the little mice they leave chests with balls and lives behind.

A dog always kills me. What should I do?

Rhythm. The big dog advances (dashes) always at the same rhythm. It's like in life, like dancing samba; one step forward, one step back. You have to sway and not just stand still.

I died to a monster that flaps wings, looks like a bee.

That's Ozzy the bat. He was created on the day Ozzy Osbourne left us. He flies in zigzag, up and down. You can defeat him by positioning him at a point, kicking and waiting for him to return. Always with rhythm, always Rock, until the end.

What was that huge thing full of life, weird pink, full of strange accessories that beat me dancing and taking little steps backwards?

This is the villain of our dreams. Here he's called Slime Jackson imitator. He has a huge scope full of decorations that we don't need. It's easier to win with help. By defeating the big dogs you'll get terrible colored cleats, you can equip up to two and they'll appear as a power bar above Gatonho. Each of the 2 cleats gives +1 damage. And if you don't abandon your dream behind, you'll have an extra +1 bonus and be able to attack at distance.

What are the keys for?

The keys open the shacks where the rings are hidden. Each key corresponds to a specific color: blue, red, white and green. You need to collect all the keys to access all the rings!

What are the rings for?

The rings are part of the "Ring Cup" that was stolen by Slime Jackson. Collecting all 4 rings is essential to complete the mission and achieve the Gold Trophy!

Does the game have an ending or is it just for score?

The game has an ending. The score can help you, but never forget that everything is a game and that the game will end one day. So play until the end and never give up. Despite you, tomorrow will be another day!

What is that big-headed yellow character that looks like E.T.? I have bad feelings!

This is Gatonho, and don't worry, he's not E.T., he's a cat without little arms, but he never falls into holes! But if more people read the manual, E.T.s and Gatonhos would scare less, I guarantee! But we would never demand that.
